Amy Clouds Singer Songwriter

My solo project, through which I write and perform an eclectic and original repertoire. My songs folk/roots in essence, but draw on a range of influences including reggae, punk, spoken word, electronica and more.

I have recently released an EP in collaboration with other musicians, and available on all major platforms, and featured on BBC Introducing in Cumbria.

“Amy is a fantastic musician, songwriter, & always a total pleasure to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed her recent EP launch where she shared her inspiring & poetic songs which are soothing, playful, and full of energy."  Rema Grace, Mycelium Thinking CIC

My recent EP launch in November at Natterjacks cafe in Ulverston attracted a full house and appreciative audience!

"Since working in bands with Amy I have seen her songwriting and performance skills blossom as she began fronting her own musical projects. Amy's songs take in wide ranging influences from Contemporary Folk, Outsider Art and Indie Pop, addressing themes such as Nature, Existentialism and Activism and making them fun and accessible."

Wayne Scurrah, Songwriter, Producer and Lecturer of Music at Kendal College

During Covid lockdown, I took the opportunity to develop my home recording and video making skills. I created 2 music videos to accompany  my songs using footage from the local landscape and contributions from online followers filmed on their Smartphones. 'Naked in the Light' was inspired by the opportunity presented by the pandemic to step back and reflect...

"I attended a course run by Amy many years ago. I was instantly struck by her playful nature and ability to make a group feel at complete ease. Since then, I have been mentored by Amy, attended further workshops and brought her in as a facilitator to workshops I run myself. I completely trust how she holds space for others to express themselves through music. Amy has a gift for bringing out the very best in people. She is supportive, a joy to be with and has done wonders for my creative expression. I love everything that Amy brings to the world."

In 2017 I was awarded More Music ‘Innovate’ funding for a ‘Wild Music’ project with a local school. We explored sound and music in the mountains, on the beach and in the woods!

In 2015 I collaborated with artist John Hall through Artspace Cumbria on 'Overground'. I coordinated the outdoor learning elements of the project, and was a ‘sound artist’ in residence at a local school...
I run occasional outdoor singing workshops to share songs connected to the seasons and the landscape, an area of work in which I would love to develop in confidence and skills and connect to my own creative practice as singer songwriter.

“Thankyou Amy that was a really magical afternoon. You held the space in such a warm and joyful way that felt really accessible. A gift for my spirit and provided the much needed time and space to reconnect. I look forward to more of that!”

“My sister has learning disabilities & we thought we'd try a Playful Nature Drumming session. Amy went out of her way to make sure she was accommodated, even reaching out after session to check she'd done enough. Not every practitioner goes out of their way like this. We have both had a joyful time & feel so grateful to have a welcoming space to go to.”
